Youth or adult groups at our private warehouse--
great for corporate team building!

    Visit Arts & Scraps at any time Monday through Saturday for service projects to pack kits and prepare materials.  Come for as little as 1 hour or a full day with children as young as 6. A free field trip while helping others!  Volunteers receive a thank you creative kit to take home.

    Every Wednesday is open volunteer day at the warehouse from 10:00 - 2:00.  Standing and sitting tasks available.

Adults and teens at the Resource Center, our "store"

 

    No meetings or time requirements. Help as little or as much as your schedule allows.  Please call 313-640-4411 x 4 or email Phyllis so she knows you're coming. 

  Volunteers Assist staff during center hours, Tues., Thurs. 11-6, Sat. 11-4

  • sort individual donations--all the "good stuff"
  • organize materials, stock shelves (especially fabric!)
  • assist in the Tool Shed with die cutting, laminating, making books and badges
  • help develop bulletin boards and make project examples

   Share your special talents:

  •  Assist with building and painting projects, fixing things
  • Help strip and wax our 4,000 sq. feet of vinyl composition flooring (we have a buffer)
     

Families, Youth Groups Individuals on Location

   Arts & Scraps attends public and private events throughout the year all around the Detroit Metropolitan Area with activity tables for children.  We encourage family volunteers and youth groups. It's good for youth to be "behind the table", making examples, giving directions, filling bins and feeling important. When a child can work a 2 to 3 hour shift and know they are present to help others, they are ready. Volunteer once a year or every few months.

  -Take the I-94 Cadieux exit, #223. 
  -Turn south towards the lake. 
  - Immediately turn right on Harper, the first intersection. 
  - Go 3/4 miles.  We're on the right, at the corner of Harper and Bedford.    
  - Look for the wrought iron fence, glass globe lights on the gate and signs on the building
