Create a personality with your face--what are different ways it could look?  Then make patterns with the red and greeen sand on the antlers.

Materials needed:  scissors, containers for sand

Social Studies:  Where do reindeer live?  How do the cultures there relate to them?  How have they influenced those cultures?  When was the song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" released?  How did that song influence our culture?

Science:  What is the difference between antlers and horns?  Which does a reindeer have?  What is a reindeer's habitat?  How does it fit into the food chain of that habitat?  Have humans effected it? 

Math:  How much does an average reindeer weigh when it is born?  A human?  How does that differ?  How much does an average adult reindeer weigh?  A human?  How does the growth rate differ?  Are a reindeer's antlers symmetrical?

Language Arts:  What do learn from the song "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer"?  Write a story that reflects that theme.

Art:  Read "Imogene's Antlers".  Discuss techniques the illustrator used to make the book interesting.  How would you look with antlers?  Make that happen with a hat, drawing, photo manipulation, sculpture or other media.
