About Group Volunteering

Arts & Scraps invites community members to serve in our mission by volunteering. Every volunteer hour spent with us helps us continue to serve the community and work towards our intent of giving a second life to discarded materials. With the 5,000+ hours of volunteer help we recieve we can save 20 tons of materials and provide accessible and creative opportunities to over 30,000 residents of the Greater Detroit Area, including: students, artists, teachers, and those looking to explore and express their creativity.

We offer two shifts each day, morning from 9 AM to 12 PM and afternoon from 1 PM to 4 PM.

Group sizes start at a minimum of 3 volunteers and cannot exceed 25 due to our capacity and spatial considerations (for individual volunteers, please click here)

Volunteers may engage in a variety of tasks, including cutting, sorting and separating materials, preparing programming materials, and organizing our space.

We welcome groups Tuesday through Thursday and require that all youth volunteer groups be accompanied by an adult.
